Breathtaking...

People here always think that China is very ulu... well it's due largely to bad publicity here and sometimes from immigrants who don't really have etiquette in public places... their inability to understand the language just makes them an easier target for bullies..

But I was really proud yesterday when I saw the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics... they were really trying to prove to the world... what the nation is capable of... No matter what bad publicity they got here and probably around the world... I think they put up an amazing show... so spectacular that I, and many others, doubt another country will be able to duplicate...

It makes me so proud that I am chinese and that my heritage is there... even with all the political problems within the nation...

It's impossible to have good publicity of China here...so well, I am just glad that people got to see another side of China through the Olympics... the people, the richness and wonder of its culture...

No one seemed to understand when I told them how much fun I had and about all the developments in Shanghai and Beijing when I went there in 2006... well maybe they understood but they were definitely not convinced at the rate that China was developing... I didn't say but many parts of China are more developed than many parts in the US...

Just like I thought Thailand was a rain forest when my parents first wanted to bring me there... haha.. a private joke in my family even until now...

I hope that after organizing such a successful Olympic that China will be able to do it again soon... The Olympics does really bring nations together... For 16 days, the world is united as one... and that's why the spirit of Olympics will live on...

Ay duck! Love you.. crying girl--it's so shocking, we were all wow-ing and cheering for the amazing fireworks, suddenly saw you crying! Mummy always say you are the sentimental kind. But it's so nice that you can be so moved. Too bad I was washing dishes..sigh..
