Wishing trees..
Just went out with my mum to Japantown for dinner (too lazy to cook today) and after dinner we went to get some ice cream crepes for dessert...
I don't know what's the occasion but there were several wishing trees in the shopping center... they also had pieces of paper for people to write their own wishes and hang it on the trees... I wrote one myself.. but I saw some really wonderful wishes... and they were written by children...
Anna wishes for "homeless peopel to have homes" (that's how she spelt people too)... I just think that children have the most generous spirit and have so much love for others and the world...
A lot of the other wishes though just as thoughtful and wonderful, revolved mostly around their own lives- like success in their jobs, health of friends and family, happiness in their lives.. even my own wish too... that when I read what children wrote for their wishes, I felt really touched...
I guess as you get older, more problems and irritations get in the way.. that it gets harder and harder to see how blessed we really are and wish for a better life for all the other people in the world... It's easy to say "world peace" but then I feel that I have so many issues and problems to deal with in my life that I have to try and get peace in my own world before hoping for peace on earth...
Just happy to have read Anna and all the other children's wishes on the wish trees... looking at the world through a child's eyes makes me feel really blessed that I have so much... I just hope I will be able to remember this feeling tomorrow...
