A wonderful new year...

It's already 2008... time passes really quickly... I've been here for about 1 year 3 months and counting... I went to a doctor's office and the technician was heading to Singapore and asked me to give her some hints about good places to visit.. and I had difficulty thinking about certain districts.. I was trying to think where 5-star chicken rice was located and I couldn't remember... so by agaration I told her somewhere near Paya Lebar...

I don't think it's a matter of forgetting but alot of things and places in Singapore are not in relation to my current life now.. just like I can't remember a lot of the places in HK too..

Anyway I thought the year started pretty well.. I'm back in school... I missed learning for the first time in a long time... working is harder and more monotonous than school... There are also less worries in school.. compared to LIFE outside... but i'm a better worker than a student...

Classes are good... think i picked good classes... and though I prefer some classes and profs over others... I have to be very thankful that all of them seem hardworking... Workload is manageable and I am working part time while studying but everything should work out...

I'm taking a American Govt course which is interesting especially since it coincides with the Presidential elections comin up this year.. I really like the class... You don't get to see these sort of things in Singapore and though I don't understand a lot about the system... people in general seem to be really passionate about choosing their government... but there are of cos people who don't really care...

Been doing a lot of retail therapy...no good esp since my income is declining as it is comin only frm one source... Theatre will be dark until further notice... there are no current shows...

Guess these are the updates... though I wonder who actually reads my blog since I hardly post... =)

Spice Girls- Viva Forever

Long long time ago...

I've been watching Spice Girls videos on youtube recently. It brings back a lot of memories from my Pri sch and sec sch days.. I can't really remember whether I still liked them in sec 1 or 2... but I was a big fan... and I still am... Their music brings a smile even though they weren't the best singers in the world...

I recently read a post on Sara's blog.. and I laughed when she mentioned me running after the MRT train... I started running at super speed then in sec 3 or 4 it slowed down, in JC I kinda galloped... and then I think I stopped running after that... well I have mellowed for sure... but I remember how it was like to be fearless, loud and looking silly all the time...

y2g... we would scream and shout at games or actually.. everywhere... we didn't care how people viewed us... it really didn't matter as long as we were having fun...
It's true that we don't keep in contact as much but I feel that whenever we meet it's like we haven't been apart for that long and that connection is really special to me... I hope it will always be like that....

I saw on (i think) caddie's facebook... the lyrics of Only love that we wrote in Pasir Ris park... I wonder if it's still there...
Also remembering throwing sparklers out from the maze during Mooncake festival...

I still smile whenever I look at the photos from ahs...

Hey Sara... I too read the letters from sec sch... many of them were hilarious... and I kept a lot of the notes that we used to pass in class! hey and I printed e-cards that we used to send each other... I think bluemountain.com?

I don't really know where this post is going or what I'm trying to say... maybe just saying thanks to y2g for making my sec sch life so much more interesting...

Nothin interesting to say anyway....

What makes people fall in love with each other? The concept of relationship is still a big mystery to me... I don't know... how can u grow to trust a stranger like u would ur family? The people here are so open to just date strangers and pick them up on chance meetings... It seems a little superficial to me but then who am I to say? Maybe I'm just not adventurous enough or maybe i'm too idealistic... that I think that it's impossible to find someone who can be ur companion on the bus...

And how do u know if that person is not a psycho? U only know the person for what, 10 minutes? How can u know what the person is like, what he/she likes and what he/she doesn't like... How can u give ur number to an (almost) total stranger?

If a person asks u out without any knowledge about u, doesn't that make the person superficial? Surely he or she is more interested in what u look like, or maybe just wants to have some sex some day this week?

Call me skeptical but even at work, people date each other because they like the way the other person look... but looks will fade, when that happens, will they fall in love with what's left of the person? Doesn't personality matter at all? Don't they want someone to share their happy moments and their sadness they go through in their day? So what has looks got to do with anything?

Falling in love means risking yourself, your emotions, your body and your energy... how do people give themselves so freely, so easily to a random person? Doesn't it hurt when u realise that it was given to the wrong person?

I guess i'm idealistic because I believe that there should be more than just phyiscal attraction so I still refuse to put on make-up, wear heels and conform to the male expectations of how a woman should look... people don't realise how hard it is to not conform and then watch as everyone else find someone to love.... but i'll hold out a little longer... perhaps someone can like me for my personality, perhaps not... we shall see...
